Internships – Calling All

Calling all

We know there’s a lot more to you than what’s on your resume. Everyone brings a unique perspective to the table. As an Arthur Elliott intern, you’ll learn how to leverage your strengths into meaningful work for clients and the agency itself.

Internships – Intro

You will also wield command on your very own project—working with real people and producing real results—all while learning how an agency functions from the inside. In fact, we’ll give you your first lesson now:

Don’t show up on your first day in a fancy blazer. We keep it casual around here.

(Although we do draw the line at sweatpants. We’re a business, not your couch.)

Internships – Shoot Your Shot

Shoot Your Shot

Are you a fearless leader with a knack for creativity? Can you juggle more things than a circus clown? Were you ever crowned kickball champion in middle school gym class? Have you memorized the lyrics to Lil Wayne’s 6 Foot 7 Foot? Does reading this feel like an interrogation? Sorry, we’re just excited.

If you said yes to any one of these, you’ll fit right in. Check out our intern positions below:

Accounting Intern

Overview

We need a detail-oriented person with a desire to learn about small business accounting. Someone who can read a balance sheet like it’s a children’s book. Someone who spends more time on the calculator app than Snapchat. Someone that can replicate Einstein’s Theory of Special Relativity in Microsoft Excel. If you want to grow your accounting and general business knowledge outside the classroom, this is a perfect fit for you.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Controller with accounts receivable, accounts payable, and bank reconciliations.
  • Assist in month-end closing and financial reporting.
  • Prepare annual forecasting and budgeting for the agency.
  • Utilize your accounting background to work with various departments.
  • Help with conducting bi-weekly payroll and updating the database of employee files.
  • Work with other interns to manage incoming revenue generated by spaces available for rent in our office building—3 meeting rooms, auditorium, and podcast studio.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a 4-year university or college pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting, finance, business, or HR.
  • Understanding of basic accounting and financial principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines.
  • Desire to learn about the multiple aspects of operating a business.

Perks

  • Learn firsthand from industry professionals how to run multiple aspects of a small business and look cool while doing it.
  • Ask and learn opportunities — an agency has a lot of moving parts; at Arthur Elliott you will have plenty of freedom to ask LOTS of questions and learn as much as possible.

      Marketing Intern

      Overview

We need self-motivated students who excel in the classroom and hold a strong desire to learn more about marketing. We want people who can dream big and transform purposeful ideas into powerful results. We want people who love Doritos and love their Super Bowl commercials even more. Maybe you’re a marketing genius that knows your customers better than they know themselves—and that’s…a little creepy. If you want to grow your marketing knowledge outside the classroom with one of the best agencies in Charlotte, this is a perfect fit for you!

      Responsibilities

      • Support Account Executives with marketing research, administrative tasks, problem-solving ideas, and client management.
      • Develop a semester-long project and present it at the end of your internship.
      • Attend meetings and lunches with the team and/or our clients to get an inside look at agency life.
      • Administrate and promote Arthur Elliott’s brand-new office in South End as a creative and collaborative rental space for prospective businesses—we have 3 meeting rooms, a podcast studio, and a large auditorium.
      • Facilitate the agency’s PR strategy and generate new business leads.
      • Here are some additional things you will learn here—digital advertising, public relations, social media, branding, and dog watching, of course (we have a wonderful view of the cutest doggie daycare).

      Qualifications

      • Currently enrolled in a 4-year university or college pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in marketing, advertising, management, communications, or related field of study.
      • Understanding of various marketing tactics and desire to learn more.
      • Ability to think outside the box and transform purposeful ideas into powerful results.
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
      • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
      • Must have 10 years of marketing experience! (Just kidding. 0 is fine.)

      Perks

      • Learn firsthand from industry professionals how to develop successful marketing strategies and look cool while doing it.
      • Ask and learn opportunities — an agency has a lot of moving parts; at Arthur Elliott, you will have plenty of freedom to ask LOTS of questions and learn as much as possible.

        Internships – FAQ

        FAQ

How many interns do you hire?

Typically, four per semester. Sometimes five so we can have a full intern roster for pickup basketball.

        What’s the workload like?

The industry moves fast and changes constantly. You need to know that one day you may be crushed with a tsunami of research and pulled into meetings, while the next day you are surfing the coffee break wave…but you need to come prepared!

Are you gonna hire me on the spot, after, or what?

The best part about our agency is that we’re always growing. If you’re someone that consistently goes the extra mile and creates value for our agency, it’s possible we’ll keep you around. This internship is competitive, so you need to STAND OUT.

Do I need to be local?

Our internship is in-person and we recommend that you reside in or around Charlotte. We feel it’s necessary to get the full agency experience, meet a real Account Executive, hear really creative swear words, and pop in random meetings. But if you can commute every day from…wherever you are, we don’t mind!

I have so many questions, who do I ask?

We’re all ears. Contact us at internships@arthurelliott.com

        Internships – Scrolled This Far

Interns aren’t here to mop the floors, master solitaire, or buy us beer with their fake IDs. Believe it or not, an actual intern wrote this whole web page! You came here for a reason—because you followed a burning passion that cannot be fulfilled without real-world experience. Whether we fuel your desire to learn more or make you hate marketing so much that you decide to study biochemistry instead—you’ll forever be traumatized by our singing either way (just kidding.)

If you scrolled this far, we like you already. Give us a reason to love you.
